Knockaround came to Benely as a startup looking for an affordable option for their employees.  Since they never had an insurance program, the challenge was to find options that would not be too costly and also a portfolio of plans that would be simple to understand for the employees.

Strategy

Because of Benely’s relationship with every major carrier in California, we needed to make sure that we explored and analyzed the different options in the market. Moreover, adding a mix of HMO and PPO options would give Knockaround contribution options that are favorable for start up groups.

Results

After getting quotes from all the carriers in California, we narrowed the options down to a select few that would make sense for the group.  And after taking surveys and asking for individual doctors that employees may want to keep, Anthem Blue Cross was the best available option for both cost and network reach.
